Sacred Showstoppers
Each song reflects a different expression of belief — in God, in love, in justice, in community, in forgiveness, and in the possibility of change.
Within the sacred acoustic of the Cathedral, these showstoppers take on new resonance. Prayers become anthems. Doubt becomes drama. Hope becomes harmony.
Whether tender and contemplative or uplifting and triumphant, Sacred Showstoppers promises an evening where theatre and spirituality meet — reminding us that some of the greatest songs ever written for the stage are, at heart, acts of faith.
Join us for a night of music that questions, celebrates and ultimately inspires.

Songs of Faith, Hope & Belief at Llandaff Cathedral
In the awe-inspiring setting of Llandaff Cathedral, Sacred Showstoppers explores the profound relationship between faith and musical theatre — where the biggest songs on stage often wrestle with life’s biggest questions.
From soaring prayers to defiant declarations of belief, this unforgettable evening brings together the spiritual heart of the West End and Broadway. Performed by exceptional students from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama alongside three celebrated West End stars, these iconic numbers will be brought to life by a band of superb musicians in a concert filled with power, passion and purpose.
The programme journeys through some of musical theatre’s most moving explorations of faith and conviction. The redemptive grace of “Bring Him Home” and “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables sits alongside the enduring traditions and heartfelt questioning of Fiddler on the Roof, where faith sustains a community through change and uncertainty.
We encounter the raw humanity and searching doubt of Jesus Christ Superstar, the joyful storytelling and parables of Godspell, and the infectious celebration of calling and transformation from Sister Act.
