Organ Demonstration with Stephen and Aaron

Cathedral Nave | 12.00pm

Join Stephen Moore, Llandaff Cathedral's Director of Music, and Aaron Shilson, Assistant Director of Music, as they talk about and demonstrate the Cathedral's magnificent 2010/13 Nicholson Organ.

Learn about the history and design of this remarkable instrument, discover how it works, and hear it brought to life through a range of musical demonstrations. Stephen and Aaron will offer fascinating insights into the organ's unique sound, versatility and role in the Cathedral's worship and concert life. Whether you're an organ enthusiast, a musician, or simply curious to learn more, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience one of the Cathedral's greatest musical treasures up close.

Tower Tours

11.00am & 1.00pm

Take the rare opportunity to explore the Cathedral's impressive 15th-century Jasper Tower, an area not normally open to the public.

Climb the spiral staircase to visit the ringing chamber, discover the historic clock mechanism, and stand amongst the Cathedral's magnificent bells while enjoying a bell-ringing demonstration. Weather permitting, your tour will continue to the tower roof, where you'll be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views across Llandaff, Cardiff and the Taff Valley.

Places are strictly limited, so advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

Please note:

  • Children under the age of seven are unable to take part due to health and safety requirements.

  • Access is via a steep spiral staircase and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, claustrophobia, vertigo or certain health conditions.

  • Sensible footwear and appropriate clothing are recommended.

  • Please meet at the back of the Cathedral Nave a few minutes before your tour begins. Unfortunately, late arrivals cannot be guaranteed a place.
