Concert: The Very Model of a Musical Evening

Saturday 4th July at 7pm - Llandaff Cathedral - £18 (under 18s £8)

Join the Llandaf Festival Chorus for a most ingenious gala celebrating the timeless wit, melody, and theatrical brilliance of Gilbert and Sullivan. Beloved by audiences for generations, their comic operas have delighted listeners since the Victorian age with their irresistible blend of satire, memorable tunes, and larger-than-life characters. From the high seas of H.M.S. Pinafore to the comic adventures of The Pirates of Penzance and the topsy-turvy world of The Mikado, this concert brings together some of their most popular and enduring choruses.

Joining the Festival Chorus are soprano Sarah Prestwidge, tenor William Morgan, and baritone Adam Brown, whose performances will bring Gilbert and Sullivan's unforgettable characters vividly to life. Expect a night of patter, pomp, romance, and mischief, with choruses fit for the very model of a major festival night.

At the heart of the performance is the Llandaff Festival Chorus itself, bringing together nearly 100 singers from across Cardiff and beyond. Meeting for just six rehearsals, these enthusiastic performers come together especially for the Festival, united by a shared love of singing and the joy of making music. Their energy, commitment, and glorious sound make this concert not only a celebration of Gilbert and Sullivan, but also of the vibrant musical community that lies at the heart of the Llandaf Festival.
