Organ Recital given by

Director of Music, Stephen Moore &

Assistant Director of Music, Aaron Shilson

Wednesday 1st July 1pm - Nave, Llandaff Cathedral - Free

Experience the extraordinary sound of Llandaff Cathedral’s organ as Stephen Moore and Aaron Shilson present a recital celebrating one of the UK’s most impressive modern instruments.

With 4,870 pipes — from monumental 26-foot giants to pipes as small as a pencil — the organ offers an astonishing palette of colour and power. Built in 2013 and designed by Simon Platt, its twin oak cases stand on either side of the choir, framing Sir Jacob Epstein’s iconic Christ in Majesty and creating a striking visual and acoustic focal point.

Stephen Moore, Director of Music at Llandaff Cathedral, leads a thriving and high-profile music department, with performances broadcast nationally and internationally. An accomplished soloist and conductor, he brings a wealth of experience from major churches and concert venues across the UK and beyond.

Joining him is Aaron Shilson, Assistant Director of Music, who plays a central role in the cathedral’s daily musical life. With experience spanning leading cathedrals and international tours, he is an accomplished accompanist and recitalist in his own right.

Together, they explore the full expressive range of this remarkable instrument — from its most delicate and reflective voices to its most thrilling and majestic sonorities.
