Trio Caer

Trio Caer is a versatile ensemble dedicated to exploring the rich and expressive blend of flute, viola and harp. Formed in 2025, the trio performs repertoire ranging from classical works to newly commissioned contemporary music. They have recorded a new composition by Rob Fokkens with Tŷ Cerdd and have appeared at St Augustine’s Chamber Series.
Flautist Liz studied at the Royal College of Music with Graham Mather and Sebastian Bell. She served as Sub-Principal Flute with the Welsh National Opera orchestra for 13 years. Since 2000 she has worked as a freelance musician, performing regularly with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Liz is a dedicated teacher at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Cardiff University.
Violist Nancy studied at the Juilliard School and, as a freelancer, enjoys a wide and varied career including working with the London Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years. She has performed worldwide with numerous ensembles and has recorded chamber music CDs for Naxos and Lyric FM. Nancy teaches viola and violin at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Cardiff University.
Harpist Aisha is a freelance performer appearing throughout the UK and internationally. She has performed with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Highlights include performing with Bolt Strings on JADE’s music video Natural Disaster and at the opening event for the Guinness Open Gate Brewery London. Aisha holds a Master of Arts with Distinction and a DipRAM from the Royal Academy of Music.
Individually, the trio’s members have performed at renowned venues including BBC Hoddinott Hall, Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Weill Hall and Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall.
