Coffee and Christmas art song: Olivia and Stephen turn to Warlock, Michael Head and Britten for a morning of seasonal repertoire beyond the familiar carols, however there will still be room for a singalong of your own favourites too.
Olivia Moore
Cardiff-born mezzo-soprano Olivia Jane Gomez is a Master’s graduate of the Wales International Academy of Voice, where she studied under Dennis O’Neill. She is a regular soloist across South Wales and the South West of England, performing a wide range of concert repertoire.
Highlights include Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius at Bath Abbey, Elgar’s Sea Pictures with the Watford Philharmonic Orchestra, Mendelssohn’s Elijah at St John’s Smith Square for the Three Choirs Festival, and Verdi’s Requiem, Bach’s St John Passion, and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. She has also appeared at the Welsh Proms in St David’s Hall, Cardiff, and in Karl Jenkins’ 75th Birthday Concert at the Gower Festival.
On the operatic stage, Olivia’s roles include Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro) with Mid Wales Opera, Olga (Eugene Onegin), and Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus). She has recently performed with Opera Anywhere and recorded Loyse in Sullivan’s The Beauty Stone with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Stephen Moore
Stephen Moore is Director of Music at Llandaff Cathedral, where he directs the Cathedral Choirs across a busy weekly round of services, concerts, broadcasts and tours. Under his direction the choir has appeared on live television and radio broadcasts, notably a service before HM King Charles III and the Queen Consort in 2022, broadcast worldwide, and he has himself appeared on Songs of Praise. Before moving to Cardiff in 2016, Stephen was Director of Music at St Matthew's Church, Northampton, continuing its tradition of commissioning new music. He trained as an organist at Trinity College of Music, graduating with first-class honours, and performs regularly as a soloist in venues across the UK and abroad, including Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral.
